Helping Project #1

Team Member Outline:
Project Leader Name: Molly Walsh
Project name: Operation Candy Gram
Project milestone dates: Dec.1-10: Collect candy canes. Dec.13-Winter Break: Sell candy cane grams and deliver last period.

The objective of this project is to sell Christmas grams to the students at our school during lunch. The money that we make goes to charity.

This project aligns with our mission and goals as a class because we are helping the less fortunate ones by donating money to charity.

My role in this project is: To make posters and put them in the halls. Help deliver the candy grams.
My group and I are going to hold each other accountable for work getting done throughout the project by: staying on task, getting informed, working hard to meet the milestones.

I don’t see anything being the largest obstacle in my way to success. What I see as being the obstacle for my group is that there won’t be many people arranging and delivering the candy grams.
The plan to overcome these obstacles is to get as many people as we can to help.

Milestone 1 Description:
Completed by: Dec. 13, 2010
We were successful at meeting these milestone because we worked hard to not get behind. We did everything as we planned. We don’t need to make any changes in our project.

Post-Project Reflection:
Project Name: Operation Candy Gram
Group Members: Molly Walsh, leadership students and me

Reflection Prompts:
·          Our vision did happen because we were able to donate money to charity. This was a good feeling because we know that the money will help others who are less fortunate.

·         Some of the things that went wrong in this project were: there was some candy left over because some of the people that candy was supposed to be deliver to were absent. We did foresee these problems, but we couldn’t do anything about it except send the candy grams to the office and see what they could do.

·         What went well in this project was that we got enough money to send to charity, the delivery went well. What we will do next time to ensure that we are more successful is talk to the office before hand and see if they know where the kids that didn’t receive their candy grams are.

·         What my next terms of becoming a better leader is do something similar to help the school or other people. What I want to work on for next time is to have a classroom clean up or a campus cleanup. What I want to do to improve my leadership ability is to get more organized and think of better projects that will help the community and my school.

·         Our group worked well together. I did good as a group member. It went that way because we were organized and listened to each others ideas.

·         What my next project is going to be: classroom clean-up.
